Name Description Credits
General High School To be eligible for a CVA General High School Diploma, students must: a) have a CVA Junior High School Diploma, or other suitable documentation of their education to a grade eight level of achievement. (Note: Students 18 years and older do not need to show proof of Junior High completion but can enter and complete the CVA High School program or take the GED or similar High School Equivalency Exam to obtain a CVA High School Diploma.) b) obtain a minimum of 80 credits in academic courses as follows: Required Courses: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies (8 credits each) Health and Personal Development, Physical Education (4 credits each) Or, satisfactorily complete GED exams; or complete standardized achievement tests with no scores lower than grade 10 in all subjects; or successfully complet grade 10 level of basic courses in a home study program such as CLE, Beka or a similar program accepted by the CVA instruction coordinator. c) obtain 20 credits in CVA Christian Studies; d) obtain 20 credits in CVA Vocational Studies. 80.00
Senior High School Diploma To be eligible for a Senior High School Diploma, students must: a) complete the CVA Senior High School (grade 11 and 12) academic courses; or pass grade 12 of CLE or another program, in the major subjects (language arts, mathematics, social studies and science); or provide proof through CLE (or other) diagnostic tests, or standardized achievement tests, that they have completed a grade 12 level of academic studies in each major subject; or pass GED exams or other high school equivalency exams; b) earn 20 credits in vocational studies courses and 20 credits in Christian studies courses in the CVA program. 104
Vocational High School To be eligible for a Vocational High School Diploma, students need to: (a) Have a CVA Junior High School Diploma, or other suitable documentation of the completion of grade eight; (b) Complete at least 20 credits through taking CVA vocational training courses. (c) Complete at least 20 credits through taking CVA Christian studies courses. 72.00
Junior High School To obtain a CVA Junior High School diploma a student must pass the CVA Junior High examinations in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies with a grade of 65% or more; or provide other suitable documentation of the completion of grade 8. If CVA examinations are not used, a grade eight level of achievement can be confirmed through other standardized tests such as are used by local or national schools, or by taking commonly recognized US achievement tests such as the California Achievement Tests (CAT), Stanford Achievement Tests (SAT-TASK), Iowa Achievement Tests (ITBS-TAP) or other reputable achievement tests. Students who provide their CVA Instruction Coordinator with other suitable documentation proving their completion of grade eight can have these alternative Junior High Shool studies entered into their records in place of the CVA Junior High School Test Results. Successful completion of grade 8 level in each of the main scholastic subjects in alternative equivalent courses such as offered by CLE, A Beka, SOS, Alpha-Omega Publishing, ACE, or some similar Junior High study program; or if their test results in a CLE Diagnostic Tests indicating a grade nine placement in all subjects, that would be sufficient proof of the completion of grade eight to qualify for a CVA Junior High Diploma. 32.00
